Lumina (lumina-video.app) turns a description into a short video. This page explains what we collect to do that, who else handles it, and how to have it deleted. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use tracking or analytics cookies.
What we collect
Your account
- Email address and display name.
- Password, stored only as a one-way hash. We cannot read it.
-
If you sign in with Google or GitHub: your account ID with that service
and the email address it gives us. We ask Google only for your basic profile and email
(
openid email profile) and nothing else — no contacts, files, calendar or YouTube access.
What you make
- The briefs, scripts and settings you write.
- The videos, audio and images you upload.
- What Lumina produces for you: storyboards, voices, captions, translations and finished videos.
How you use it
- Your credit balance and a record of what each step cost.
- Job history (what ran, when, and whether it succeeded), used to bill fairly and fix failures.
- Server logs, including IP addresses, kept for a short time for security and debugging.
How we use it
- To run the service: plan, generate, voice, caption and export your videos.
- To keep your account secure and stop abuse of free credits.
- To contact you about your account or important changes to the service.
We do not use your content to train our own models.
Who else handles your data
Making a video means sending parts of it to specialist services. Each one receives only what its step needs.
| Service | What for | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Hetzner (Finland, EU) | Our servers, database and stored media | Everything listed above |
| Cloudflare | Delivering the website and DNS | Requests to our website, including IP address |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Planning and writing scripts | Your brief and script text |
| Google (Gemini) | Translation and generated voices | Script and caption text |
| OpenAI, Groq | Speech recognition, when used | The audio of videos you ask us to transcribe |
| Google, GitHub | Sign-in, if you choose it | The sign-in request itself |
During the beta, translation and voices use Google’s Gemini API on its free tier, under which Google may use the text it processes to improve its products. Please do not put confidential information in scripts or captions while Lumina is in beta.
Google user data
Lumina’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use your Google account information only to sign you in and identify your Lumina account, and never for advertising.
Cookies and local storage
We use one cookie, which keeps you signed in so your videos can play, and your browser’s local storage for your session and preferences. No advertising or analytics cookies.
How long we keep it
- Your account and projects: for as long as your account exists.
- You can delete any project in the app at any time.
- To delete your whole account and everything in it, email support@lumina-video.app from the address you signed up with. We delete it within 30 days; backups roll off shortly after.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing support@lumina-video.app. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and media can be played only by a signed-in user. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
Children
Lumina is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. For significant changes we will also email you before they take effect.
